Partnerships
Signs for the future
Promoting Swiss athletics together
Equans Switzerland’s partnership with Swiss Athletics and the UBS Kids Cup sends a strong signal for the future promotion of Swiss athletics.
Swiss athletics has been riding a wave of success and increasing popularity over the last few years. Top athletes are winning more medals than ever at international championships. The junior programmes are the basis for this success, above all the UBS Kids Cup with over 150,000 participants in over 1,000 events every year.
Sustainability and the promotion of future generations are core values at Equans Switzerland. That’s why the company is resolutely committed to the sustainable promotion of sports, including athletics. This unique partnership supports the long-term, successful development of Swiss athletics based on shared values such as a sense of responsibility, innovation and future-oriented thinking.
Promoting junior
and elite sports
Equans Switzerland is committed to supporting established athletes but also young talent in order to offer them the best possible conditions for personal and sporting success. Our involvement includes partnering with the Swiss championships for young and established athletes, the UBS Kids Cup and partnerships in the context of the Swiss national athletics team.
Creating
synergies
This collaboration leads to valuable synergies that are of great value to both Swiss athletics and Equans Switzerland. It’s a partnership that offers Equans Switzerland strong platforms with high appeal, which will actively contribute to positioning the new Equans Switzerland brand in the Swiss market.
SWISS ATHLETICS
Swiss Athletics is the professional association for athletics in Switzerland. As a national umbrella organisation, Swiss Athletics promotes elite, junior and grass-roots sports, as well as training for managers and coaches.
The association comprises over 520 clubs and around 12,500 members. It is responsible for organising and running national athletics competitions, supports Swiss athletes at international competitions such as the Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships, and offers training and competition opportunities for young athletes.
The aim is to anchor running, jumping and throwing more deeply in society and thus actively help to promote health. Through its activities, Swiss Athletics provides important platforms for athletes to develop their talents and fulfil their potential.
Swiss athletic success
Athletics has been riding a wave of success in Switzerland for several years, with Swiss Athletics sending record numbers of both junior and established athletes to compete at international championships. The top athletes have been inspiring Swiss sports fans by winning more medals than ever before.
UBS KIDS CUP
The UBS Kids Cup is more than just an athletics competition – it is the largest and most sustainable sports project in Switzerland.
Since its launch in 2011, the competition has attracted well over 1.5 million participants and inspires over 150,000 children and young people aged seven to 15 every year. In collaboration with Weltklasse Zürich and Swiss Athletics, the UBS Kids Cup sustainably promotes the popular sport forms of running, jumping and throwing at grass-roots level but also with an eye on developing competitive performance levels. Young athletes qualify at local and cantonal level, in schools or clubs, up to the grand Swiss final in the Weltklasse Zürich stadium.
A sports project for every season
In summer, children compete in the classic triathlon: a 60-metre sprint, long jump and ball throw. In winter, the focus is more on team spirit, so the UBS Kids Cup Team runs exciting indoor competitions such as sprinting, throwing challenges and relay races.
From the UBS Kids Cup to the world stage
The UBS Kids Cup has proven itself as a springboard for top international athletes. Many of today’s Swiss athletics stars gained their first experiences here, laying the foundation for their impressive careers. These success stories underline the importance of the UBS Kids Cup not only as a grass-roots sports project, but also as a promoter of top performances.
